The former Cards coach is hiring Bryon Leftwich as offensive coordinator and is expected to hire Harold Goodwin as run game coordinator/offensive line and Clyde Christensen as QB coach, Rapoport added. Arians is also bringing in his former defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for the same position in Tampa Bay.
As compensation for hiring Arians, the Bucs sent a 2019 sixth-round pick to Arizona in exchange for Arians and a 2019 seventh-round pick, Rapoport reported.
Bruce Arians has a well-earned reputation for turning things around quickly everywhere he coaches. He solidified that reputation with the Cardinals in 2013 when Arizona posted a five-win improvement over their 2012 record. Prior to coming to Arizona, Arians had coached with five different NFL teams - and he made it to the postseason for four of them in his first two seasons with the team. The Colts (2012) and Steelers both made the postseason in Arians' first season, while the Browns, Chiefs and Colts (1999) made the playoffs in his second year. After the Cardinals finished the regular season with an 11-5 record and secured a spot in the postseason in 2014, Arians has made the postseason within two years of his arrival with five different teams.
